Harris all the way. Whatever you do don't get the winchester one from wally world. I just wanted one cheap for the .22 mag and it's the biggest POS out there.

I would recommend a Harris. I don't know what the heck these other guys are talking about. They're about $100 or so give or take a few bucks. You'll have to decide what height you want. I've got a couple of them that I can sit behind and shoot off of. I don't like the little short ones probably because I don't shoot off of a bench too much.

All the above

The harris S 25C is what I have on the ar. Height ranges from 13 1/2 to 27 inches with a weight of 19oz.

agreed....have a Harris on the 7 mag  its nice to be able to sit and have a great rest... just watch your fingers cuz sometimes they can pinch you if you're not careful.

I have the Harris bipod but the shorter version. One thing you must watch is like my rifle is a synthetic stock so the bipod make the end of the barrel heavier and when you pack it over your shoulder the barrel keeps wanting to slide towards the ground so you are adjusting it often. :twocents:

I feel your pain.  I got so tired of my rifle trying to swap ends, I put the sling on backwards and carried the gun barrel-down.

Harris is top of the line, with Stony Point close behind, and these days almost as expensive.  As to length, the first one I got was a 9" to 13" one, and to me, it's worthless!  Too long to use on the bench, and not long enough for sitting or kneeling.  The long ones are the best, IMHO.

Harris all the way. Check out the gun shows for them you might get lucky. I found 2 of them at a show for 15 bucks each. The shorter ones. I do want to get the longer one with the swivel.
