anyone know a good place to go crawdadding in south kitsap? i know long lake has them, but where else would be a good spot? any help appreciated, (i made my own pots in my metal shop class! actaully not that hard and pretty cheap i made 2 out of a $12 roll of hardware cloth so 6 bucks a pop!)

Just about anywhere with fresh water really, they are pretty prolific little buggers. Check your regs and try some places, I've done pretty good using chicken for bait. Try and put the pots next to logs or rocks where crawdads have a spot to hide.

I'm not sure where you should go up here, but I know the best bait.  We catch the bejesus out of the shad in April/May, wrap them in newspaper and freeze them in the bait freezer.  When you're ready to go, an axe makes easy work out of the frozen shad.  Shad make the best dad/crab bait in the world, but man are they messy.

When I used to live in that area, I would find dads in the outfall creek of Mission Lake. None were big, perfect bait size acually, but who knows whats in the main lake.
