Title: Fishing Dry (semi dry)Suit
Post by: sisu on March 07, 2011, 04:29:02 PM
We do a fair amount of salt and big fresh water fishing from kayaks. My wife has always had a dry suit because she used to guide but I really never had one. I usually wear a farmer john wet suit, not the most comfortable thing to have on but better than hypothermia or I have a two piece semi-dry set up but I really doubt it would help if I went in the drink. Because of that I started looking around and of course came back to my wife's original suggestion (I am stubborn), T3 SuperNova Angler Paddling Suit by Kokatat. I've talked with several owners of the suit and it seems surprisingly comfortable as well as durable. I like that idea of Cordura on the seat, elbows and the entire front legs. I usually am hard on the left knee and both elbows, butt not so much unless you count the barbed wire in the rear end out in the Palouse. I know it says semi-dry on the web site page but from what folks have told me it is pretty near dry if you tighten things up.
This will be my birthday present.

Here is the web site for those of you eveer considering buying one. T3 SuperNova Angler Paddling Suit (http://www.kokatat.com/product_detail.asp?code=sna)

Got a buddy that uses something similar for floats hunts for Moose.  He wears it like normal hunting clothes with a wool sweater under neath.  Dry, warm and happy he is...

I have never seen this stuff before, but it looks awesome.  After I saw the price though, it got moved to the long term wish list.
