Our First Rose bud of the year! :)

Wow, that's crazy, I was just pruning the dead growth from last year off ours this weekend. I have some leaves, but no buds yet.

This particular rose bush has about 30" of new growth on it and it is getting prettier every day. It is in a planter box, so I have had it in my wood shop all winter. So I guess my wife and I cheated the season a little bit. At night and when I am not in the shop working we keep the temp at 40 degrees. While I'm in the shop I keep the room at 68 degrees. :)

Nope, it is a Hybrid Jackson & Perkins Rose called Love. :)

Those crazy hybrids :). We have several varieties of native rose and they grow like weeds, I took the Rugosa out all-together, it was attacking everything else. The more tame ones are better.
