Title: NCW Fishing... I NEED to go fish!
Post by: jordano on March 11, 2011, 10:52:16 PM
I'm home in Wenatchee for the weekend and wondering if there is anything in the Wenatchee area or within an hour or 2 drive where I can get some perch or trout or anything for that matter right now through the ice or in a lake? I haven't been in the area since new year's so I don't know where any decent fishing is right now.... Any help is appreciated!!  :hello:

You are in the zone my friend.  Look up steelhead in your area.  Check out Gamefishin.com for areas as well.

yeah I dunno about going for steelhead right now since its getting kind of late for up here... I'm sure they are very dark right now... but I was looking at Roses Lake (by Chelan) Fish Lake ( by Lake Wenatchee) and Patterson Lake (by winthrop)... for trout and perch... I just don't know about the ice or how the fishing has been... or if there are any other lakes I could fish for trout or panfish right now...

Hit up the Quincy lakes, you can camp, use a boat or hike into some other lakes. Good trout fishing

If you want to do some Flyfishing try the Methow River if it is open you should have some fun for trout.

I went up that way to Patterson Lake and there were LOTS of people out fishing the Methow...

Completely understand - but it was kind of funny. All I know is you're surrounded by water, but I can't speak to seasons since I haven't fished that area since I lived in Moses Lake about 10 years ago. Don't know how far you're looking to travel, but Roosevelt is always a good bet with lots of access and room to spread out. A lot of guys pull good sized bows out of there from the bank all the time, same with Rufus (but there can be access and tribal barriers).

I did hear about those! I guess that Roosevelt is pretty hot right now! I've fished Rufus one time and launched below Grand Coulee and ran to the farthest up river net pens and fished with no success... I don't know how to fish or where to go there but that's ok.. I'll figure it out. I've never fished Roosevelt before but I've heard about fishing from the bank @ Spring Canyon. May give that a try soon....

hey does anyone know how the ice is on Patterson Lake up by Winthrop? I was just wondering if it was safe ice still or not. I haven't been up there in a couple of weeks..
