Title: flashes
Post by: MattySuto on March 15, 2011, 01:41:26 PM: Has anyone had any issues with the flashes or maybe spooking the animals? also...my camera has a motion sensor but in order for it to go off the animal has to be moving or doing something in order for it to finally take a pic.....has anyone had any issues with animals not coming back because of the flash it scaring them or anything...just curious.,..

Post by: grundy53 on March 15, 2011, 02:31:27 PM: Never seemed like the flash bothers them. I've had Elk,Deer,Bear, Yotes,etc... eat for hours while the flash just get going off.

Post by: huntnnw on March 15, 2011, 05:39:48 PM: Most of the population of animals no and when over a bait usually not, but from what I observed back in the day when there were only flash cameras is the mature bucks were not a fan of the flash.I ran a camera on a bait from June 1st till late august only to get 2 pics of a particular buck. This buck was always around the bait. He was super spooked over the camera, I took it down and was able to see the bait from 200 yards away and he was there every evening. I would never hang a flash camera either on just a trail, specialy if your after a old buck.

Thats what my camera pics look like.... but it gives off a huge flash its more like 2 quick flashes and then its good to go....but the picture quality is good... it doesnt loook like the other pic on this topis where you cant see anything except a outline....

Post by: Heredoggydoggy on March 16, 2011, 05:44:25 PM: I read somewhere years ago, that animal's eyes didn't seem to register on the new LED flashes, but the incandescent flash like huntnnw was using spooked them. I think it was something to do with the wavelength of the light that their eyes didn't process.

That's why I bought IR cameras.
