The Slammer or the Ranger are both top of the line boats with great reputations. Either one of those would be a top choice.

Westport charters "tornado" we went last year and had a tough time finding fish at first but the captian stayed out a couple extra hours for us when we did find the fish. The reason we came back then was because we ran out of bait. I will book again with him anytime!

The "Slammer" uses light tackle for the rock fish (at least when I went out). The day we went out we outfished the neighboring boat that was using the double hooks and pulling out 2 at a time. The light tackle makes catching the rock fish way more fun. Then we broke out the heavy gear for the lings. There was a 12 year old girl that caught the biggest ling that day!!

Watched today's Hawg Quest show on tv today and they were on the slammer out of westport. Looked like a fun trip. They caught flounder in one area that they uswed for bait for the ling cod. When every one on the boat had there limits they moved to another area and caught salmon. I'm thinking of doing something like that in the near future.

Been on the slammer twice. Once for bottom fish and once for salmon. Had a great time with Rhett one of the best captains I have been out with. Also has very knowledgeable deckhands.

Slammer!!!!!! I haven't had a bad day in 13 years of fishing with Rhett and his crew.
