I checked the trail camera Saturday and saw a nice bull and a couple of does and a coyote, but the biggest surprise was two fat wild turkeys right out in the open. The camera was set up a little ways outside of Mossyrock. I had heard of turkeys around the Winston Creek area, but had never seen one after living in the area for 35+ years.
I might have to invest in a turkey call and see if I can bring 'em back. Anyone else hear of or hunt for gobblers around here?

Came as a surprise to me too
A friend of the family has property down along the columbia in the area and randomly commented on the turkeys that would walk through his yard.... I had no clue there were any in that part of the state
I'm still trying to coerce him to let me use his land, would sure beat the trip out NE

I have seen turkeys the past two springs in the hills outside of Mossyrock also. The first one my son actually spotted and said whats that? I was told from a neighbor up there that she had seen them years ago but nothing recently. So I guess they have been there but maybe their numbers are making a comeback.

Here's one of the pics of the two birds. I forgot to reset the clock & date when I changed the batteries.

Is that 2 more birds right above them coming out of the timber? I zoomed in on it, and could be wrong but I swear I see two more birds as that black blob beyond them. :dunno: Who knows maybe I'm seeing things lol.

I think that is a small log that is pointed at the upper left corner of the pic. I hunted this area during elk and late buck and there a few rotting trees laying that way. You can kind of see the upper line of the log as it disappears in the brush.
I am going to double check on that next time I go up there to check the camera. Good eye!
