I know a bunch of you guys on the eastside successfully use salt to bring critters in to the camera. Does this work better at certain months of the year or is it effective year round?

great from spring to late july as the green forage dries up and the antlers and milk production stops the need for salt almost stops..they barelt hit any licks I have come sept thru winter

The elk seem to stop hitting mine as soon as the bulls rub off there velvet but in June July and august I go through 100 pounds a week on one of my more active licks. You get some cool pics, they practically live in mine.

Seems sept 1 they start to hate the stuff.
