Hey I was kind of wondering if anyone out there has shot the 835 Tactical Turkey. I was wondering how it patterns and if it is worth buying or just sticking with my Benelli Nova duck gun for turkey hunting.

I haven't shot the Tactical...Mossberg has some guns nowadays. I have other Mossberg's that work Awesome!

My brother has one and it is very effective with good range. Kicks like a mule though. The tactical stock is a meat tenderizer and completely straight inline with the barrel so you get the full recoil, even with a limbsaver. He's fashioned up a little pad for the top of the stock as a cheek pad as its busted him good a few times.
I opted for a Rem 870 Express Turkey with shurshot synthetic stock and love it. Good prices and they have a $50 rebate on them right now.

I bought a 835 Turkey Combo back in 2000 ... they do kick a bit, plus the action is not smooth ... but it is effective.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not to worried about the kick, but I was kind of wondering how the choke tube that it comes with patterns. I use a kicks gobbling thunder right now and that choke has been awesome.

With the loads I'm shooting, it patterns good out to 40 yards, but I usually shoot them from 10 ft to 20 yards and it slays them ....

I had the 835 duck gun, loved it, bought the 935 semi auto, loved it, and just ordered the 535 turkey gun!!! STOKED TO HAVE IT FRIDAY!!!!! I hope its as great as all my other mossy's, I love the thumb safety, have a 870, thing kicks like a mule and broke my finger... won't ever go back to remy shotguns unless its an oldschool one..
