Title: Barnes Bullets-what a great company...
Post by: Rob on March 28, 2011, 11:38:32 AM
I recently purchased some of the Barnes' TTSX Bullet, 250 Grain .375 Cal to be loaded in a 375 H&H Mag.

This is a new bullet from Barnes, just released this year in the 375 cal.

I was unable to find any loading data in my Barnes Book, or on the Barnes Website.  So late last night, I dropped them an e-mail asking them if they had any load data available.

This morning, I got this note:

We do not have that data shot with the ttsx yet.  You can use the X bullet data, just start about 1.5 grains up from the minimum and work your load up from there.  I have attached that data.

Thanks,

Consumer Services
Barnes Bullets, LLC

38 North Frontage Road, PO Box 620, Mona, UT 84645

My observations on this service:
1.  I got a reply from them in less than 1/2 of a business day
2.  While they did not have the exact info I needed, they gave me the needed guidance to proceed
3.  They also sent me a PDF of the loading data they referenced in the e-mail.

I have needed info from Barnes on more than one occasion, and I ALWAYS have received quick responses, helpful people, and excellent service.  Not only do they make a great product, but they back it up with great support.

yeah they seem to be on top of this kind of thing. They sent me their reload data for the .338win when I was looking at buying some older bullets they dont make anymore.

I have been told that Barnes was purchased by Remington, but the same people are still running Barnes.  :twocents:

It would be interesting to know if it's true for sure.

I have only dealt with them a couple of times had one good time and one bad time.

1:The good time was kinda also bad. They sent out some tmz muzzleloader bullets with bad sabots on them that did not fit right. So that was the bad on that one. The good was they sent me a new pack for free.

2:I have talked about this one before. Barnes to this day still thinks I am crazy. I got a bulk box of 22cal bullets from cabelas. Once I got them I started to load some up. On about the 4Th rd the bullet fell threw the case neck into the powder. I thought somehow my sizer did not size the case neck. So I set it aside, grabbed another loaded case an tried to put another bullet into a new case. Same thing happens. Got out the calipers and check the dia of the bullet. It was .204 :yike: After checking some more bullets out there was a mix of 22 and 20cal bullets. :yike: I am very lucky that they did not stick in the case. I can only think of what might of happened. If I dropped them in my gun tried to chamber a rd and shoved the bullet back into the case and pulled the trigger.

Thanks Bob, seems like the company to work for   ;)

I had a similar situation to Carp.  Ordered a box of the .308 TSX rounds and what arrived must have been .277, because they fell right into the case. Called, spoke with some nice folks in the CS dept and within a week had the correct cal bullets in-hand.

Can't ask for much more nowadays.... except for the right product in the 1st place :chuckle:

oh well, satisfied customer for sure
