Title: Elk on the hill
Post by: sticky on March 29, 2011, 12:30:26 PM
Here's a couple of shots of a bull that lives up on the hill behind my house.  His herd ranges an area about 6-7 miles long.  I haven't seen him with any other elk so far.  Forgot to reset the time & date when I changed the batteries.

Given the opportunity you'd better take him. . . Unless you've got him fenced in, it'll be a long shot getting multiple opportunities.

The problem is that I hunt modern and archery season is first.  That herd usually gets hit hard, but there's a reason that bull is still alive.  I am going to wait and see.  I'll decide whether or not to shoot IF I see him in November.  My buddy says get a bow and practice up, but I'm not going to do that based on one animal on a trail cam.

True, you could always use it as a nice incentive to expand your hunting opportunities  ;)
