here's an old post I dug up. Wanted you guys to post some kill shots. Gotta love dead yotes. :IBCOOL:
Anyways post some pics. Hey Sagedawg, you can just post stories   seeing as you can't figure the pic thing out. :chuckle:
New here so thought I'd chime in. I love to see that there are other yote hunters out there! Used to be kind of a rarity now lots of guys love chasing them. Well, theres only one thing I like better than chasing coyotes and I probably shouldn't mention what that would be on this site. Here's some of my handy work from past years. Never mind the hand gestures, they were from online contests to prove they were recent kills. Hope you like.

Nice pics.........welcome to the site.
Hey, is that a 7th picture about a 1/4 the size of a postage stamp at the end? :dunno: :) :)
-
Good eyes Curly!
Nicely composed field shots. Those would be great for a winter POTM competetion. Anyway, what parts do you like to hunt, as in SE washington, Palouse, Central, the Yakima.........
-
I hunt the palouse near Colfax for yotes but I've hunted NE too. Yep thats supposed to be a pic. Don't know why it's so small. I'll try it again.

:chuckle: :chuckle:
Welcome to the sight...I do like the decoy...I have been considering doing something along those lines too. Thanks for the pics.
-
You finally graduated from Dial up Bone? Must have missed that too.
-
Had to with all the traffic I do on this site. I am alotted so much time at home, depending on what mood the Mrs is in. This is my other mistress you know, or at least she thinks so. I couldn't handle AOL anymore.
-
I hear ya. we are always arguing about who gets the computer. She is always on MySpace. I tell her she is "Whoring" and she fires back "at least they are people and not dead animals we are talking about!"
I need to get my laptop fixed so I can use it for feeding my Hunting-Washington addiction
-
alright congrats
-
Nice pics gutpile,
Not sure what's up with the micro pic. Maybe it was cold out when you took it. Other things have been known to shrink in the cold... :chuckle:
-
Great photos. I love calling coyotes too. What is your AR set-up? What were you calling them in with?
-
I wish.... Those are some cool pictures. I can't wait to shoot some of my own.
-
I don't know, but I am sure BTKR and the other dial up users will appreciate it. :)
LOL
Yea, most of the time the large images kill me. This page only took a couple minutes to fully load.
BTW. Welcome and great pics.
-
What is your AR set-up? What were you calling them in with?
Most of these were called in with hand calls. I do have a foxpro now though and it's fantastic. The AR is a custom job buy a company called D-tech out of minnesota. It's a .223. Thing is accurate as heck. Actually I shoot better with the Ruger with the long barrel though. The shorty is taking some time to get used to. I bought it for the quick followups when doubles come in and the Ruger is just too heavy to lug around all day. Especially when I've got a couple down and I'm a mile in.
-
I aint an addict, I dont have 3 dedicated yote rifles, 100 hand calls or a foxpro scorpian with 150 sounds, I dont!!! I dont call yotes 60-90 days per year, drive to Idaho and Montana and spend a week, nope, not me.
That guy is my other brother Carl, the dumb one. :chuckle:
I am thinking about going next weekend for a two day, Friday and Sat. leave early Fri. come home Sat. PM
Carl(the good one)
-
All I can say is I try to get coyote a lot. Going Saturday. Do I find any no. But I go out 2-3 times a month.
-
You will catwithboots, just a matter of time. The more you go out, your chances start to increase. Try setting up along a trail. Look for trails where the coyotes have been using. Try getting out in the open on a hill, and watch those trails. Stay hidden, and still. It will happen, just a matter of time.
I use low volume at first, rabbit distress for about 20 sec. Wait a few minutes. Try again a bit louder. Wait 2 minutes. Try again louder. If nothing is coming in after 5 tries. I move away about another 300 yds and try again.
This one I shot at 16' :tung: :tung: Too close, but worked fine with my Simmons Aetec 4 - 14 x 44.

Nice pictures, love your decoy, you put a little more detail into it than I did mine. :)
-
I am also addicted to coyote hunting I have a few pics but not quite smart enough to post pics. I use a few select hand calls and a foxpro any time you wanna go shoot me a PM

Here's my last dog from last year. This is the second dog I've called from this exact location. I can honestly say if it wasn't for my AR I would have educated this one. I missed the first shot, and if I would of had to chamber a round I would have not got another shot at this coyote.
Can you say mange?

Very nice Big10.
I would give up all othering before I would give up the yotes.
-
You look like you are in my neck of the woods Big 10. Cool Dog shots and that cat is really awesome.
-
Posted it before...but here is as close as I have got...gave it a nice shave with my .300 wsm. Notice the bullet graze mark in the grass and the tuffs of fur.... ;)
-
If you have ever seen a coyote skinned they are a lot narrower then they look with all that fur. Your really only shooting at a 1liter bottle for a kill zone. :yike:
-
Anyways post some pics. Hey Sagedawg, you can just post stories   seeing as you can't figure the pic thing out. :chuckle:
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Good one Gutpile!!!! Did head out to "the spot" but didnt have any luck. Looks good though, did see some deer lots of geese, but in 7 different stands not one dawg wanted to say hi..........oh well had fun always next time

Bummer sage. I'm getting stoked big time. I gave the AR a preseason scrub down along with the old 250. I'm working up a 60 grain load for the AR as it's so fussy with light loads. I've got a dandy but it's the old 40 grain Varminators which ar discontinued. I want to get a load worked out now in case the grenades don't group well since I'll give them a go when these run out. I'm thinking the 60's should be a perfect match for a 1:10 AR if the light grenades don't work. We'll see. Anyways think I'll head out monday if the weather is decent maybe twice this week. You me, bighornstobushytails, and MHWASH need to get something going this winter.
