Title: Any coyote hunting nuts out there? lots of pics, share yours.

Anyways post some pics. Hey Sagedawg, you can just post stories :rolleyes: :rolleyes: seeing as you can't figure the pic thing out. :chuckle:

New here so thought I'd chime in. I love to see that there are other yote hunters out there! Used to be kind of a rarity now lots of guys love chasing them. Well, theres only one thing I like better than chasing coyotes and I probably shouldn't mention what that would be on this site. Here's some of my handy work from past years. Never mind the hand gestures, they were from online contests to prove they were recent kills. Hope you like.

Yea, most of the time the large images kill me. This page only took a couple minutes to fully load.

Most of these were called in with hand calls. I do have a foxpro now though and it's fantastic. The AR is a custom job buy a company called D-tech out of minnesota. It's a .223. Thing is accurate as heck. Actually I shoot better with the Ruger with the long barrel though. The shorty is taking some time to get used to. I bought it for the quick followups when doubles come in and the Ruger is just too heavy to lug around all day. Especially when I've got a couple down and I'm a mile in.

Look for trails where the coyotes have been using. Try getting out in the open on a hill, and watch those trails. Stay hidden, and still. It will happen, just a matter of time.

I use low volume at first, rabbit distress for about 20 sec. Wait a few minutes. Try again a bit louder. Wait 2 minutes. Try again louder. If nothing is coming in after 5 tries. I move away about another 300 yds and try again.

This one I shot at 16' :tung: :tung: Too close, but worked fine with my Simmons Aetec 4 - 14 x 44.

Here's my last dog from last year. This is the second dog I've called from this exact location. I can honestly say if it wasn't for my AR I would have educated this one. I missed the first shot, and if I would of had to chamber a round I would have not got another shot at this coyote.

Post by: Gutpile on November 08, 2008, 10:04:25 PM: Bummer sage. I'm getting stoked big time. I gave the AR a preseason scrub down along with the old 250. I'm working up a 60 grain load for the AR as it's so fussy with light loads. I've got a dandy but it's the old 40 grain Varminators which ar discontinued. I want to get a load worked out now in case the grenades don't group well since I'll give them a go when these run out. I'm thinking the 60's should be a perfect match for a 1:10 AR if the light grenades don't work. We'll see. Anyways think I'll head out monday if the weather is decent maybe twice this week. You me, bighornstobushytails, and MHWASH need to get something going this winter.

i gave one a good shave this deer season. he walked out to the edge of the road 15yds away and i jerked the trigger. but at least i got some fur to tied summer run steelhead jigs with :chuckle:
