Question for all you taxi's out there. My old man has a mountain goat mount and will be moving it, along with his other mounts, do down to Texas with him. Any suggestions on how to clean the goat and what to use? It is hard to tell but he doesn't seem as white as he used to be.

does he smoke in the house or had a wood stove in there?
I have had my dall sheep on the wall since 92 and still bright white.
There are a couple different things you can use and do. Can you possibly post some pictures up of it?
Thanks
Joe

No smoking and not near a fireplace. It has always been in the trophy room away from everything. I will try to snap off a photo and post it. Hopefully it will show the colors

I've cleaned a couple of them. One was involved in a furnace explosion. It was almost black. The methods that I or another taxidermist might use would not be advised by someone that does not know how to use certain chemicals. I've used a product called Basic White. You can get it at your local beauty supply store. You don't want to leave it on very long or it can burn the hair. ****I stress that you may want to have it professionally cleaned****
