Flicker shots this week.

Nice shots. We have some flickers that come every morning. I want to move the bird feeders next to a big evergreen tree in the back yard so I can try and get some shots. I like the one of the bird flying. Nice one.

Thanks, got lucky on that one. These two males were battling it out, I think one of them is the same bird in the first photo.

I will be forever sad that I can no longer say "Red-shafted Flicker" but now have to say "Northern Flicker."
Oh well. I guess I can still appreciate a cool picture when I see one. Nice job!

Well, about all I can say is I agree with all of the above. Very cool. 8)

Thanks. I've had good luck with the woodpeckers lately.

Great shots, I wish it would stop raining so i could get out, maybe this weekend!
-
awesome pictures! i really like last picture of the woodpecker

Darrel,
Those pics are great! I really like the one in flight the best. A person has to take quite a few pics to get some like you have here. Way to go!

Thanks Joe. I find that bracketing is the way to go for birds most of the time (6 burst), the only issue with that is I have to sift through over 1,000 photo's every weekend :) to get a couple dozen keepers. I'm waiting for more blue sky like everyone else, the back lighting in most photo's right now isn't as good as it could be. May-August should be pretty fun, we have some bird trips planned over east and out to the coast.
