Saw a cell phone pic of a HUGE walleye caught from the Alder st. fill on Moses Lake. Hearing rumors this thing goes 24 lbs. Not too sure of all the details yet but the pic is outrageous, looks well over 40". Let the negative comments about the fishing at the Fill fly! If this is indeed true it should hit the papers soon.
-
I'm not buying 24lbs. :twocents:
-
I would need to see that, 40" would be incredible
-
I've seen the pic and it is big, but I doubt 24 lbs. I heard 22 and I have a hard time believing it. I first heard about this fish 3 weeks ago about some guy caught it through the ice. Then a guy came to work and told me his buddy caught it last sunday. :chuckle: Always great to hear about a fish 2 weeks before it was caught. But, WDFW shocked up a walleye a couple years ago that went 19.
-
That kind of reminds me of a 6 and a half pound Lg Mouth I caught once....
a month later a friend who heard about it congratulated me on catching the new State Record !! :chuckle:
rumours are better than "long arming" any day !

18.75lbs we took it to the Red Apple meat department in Umatilla Oregon to get a weight on it.
That was after it layed in the fish box for 6 hours!!

I have spoke to guys who have done the fish shocking and they have shocked fish over 20lbs more than once. My biggest walleye out of Moses was 34''. I did not weigh it, I let it her go. There are some real big ones in Moses, which makes sense cause of all the bait in that lake. It is FULL of smallmouth and largemouth fry. The fish in Moses do not go hungry.

no way in H E double hockey sticks this is a 20# walleye.
20# longarm walleye maybe.

LOL! :chuckle: I was gonna say, I dont think that one would go much over 12lbs! :chuckle:
-
Reguardless its a nice Walleye
-
After seeing better pics on here it doesn't look nearly as big as it did on a little cell phone. :chuckle: Wouldn't surprise me if someone did break the record down there eventually. There are some absolute MONSTER fish in Moses lake and a lot of them go through that small channel and through all them jigs the fishermen throw at them to get up the creek and spawn.
-
Not an ounce over 15. Definately not 20#.
-
Funny, I was going to post earlier that my dad has a 13 pounder on the wall and that fish is not as big. I was going to guess 10-11.

I was going to say 13 too, but gave him 2 lbs.. Who knows but it ain't 20Lbs.
-
So what if the guy in the pic is 400lbs? Maybe? :chuckle:
-
regardless of what it weights that is a damn good walleye :twocents:
-
FOund out on another site that it weighed only 12 lbs.
-
13-14 lbs, nice fish, but 40 inches??????? Are you serious! Sad thing is he ate the damn thing!
-
My biggest walleye, ever, was a 32" spring fish from Potholes at 10.5 pounds - tasted GREAT! Also only my second walleye caught in WA.
Sorry, no pics handy, long before digitals, 1997 or so.
-
Nice fish bone but is camp really necessary to catch the big ones. Maybe that's why I can't get them.
-
Camp? I only fish for these buggers a couple of weeks out of the year. During the pre-spawn to up the chance at gettin a pig.
Some days you get lucky!
