Looking at getting an semi auto and trying to keep it on the cheap side for now.
(12GA that will shoot 3 1/2" shells)
Any recomendations on a decent auto loader under $500.
Dont want a brick, I have one of those and now looking for some thing lighter weight.

You should be able to find a Benelli Supernova around $500.

Supernova is still a pump I believe... Pete, I had a thread about this a little while back that had some good suggestions. I will see if I can find the link to it.

Mossberg 935.
Maybe Charles Dailey, USSG, Escort, Tristar.
-
Weatherby makes an auto that I think you can find for five bills. I have been looking at the youth 20 gauge for my daughter. SA-08 is the model.
-
I would look at a used Remington 11-87 over Weatherby or Mossberg :twocents:
I have one and have put 1000's of rounds ( light 8's to buck shot) through it no problem. Most of the trap and skeet guys like the 11-87's and 1100's based upon my conversations

I bought a beautiful as-new 11-87 from a guy in the parking lot outside a gun show. screw in choke, 3 inch, wood stock, the up grade satin finish. $450.00. shop around

Here you go Pete:

You can pick up a 3" 11-87 for around 50-75 dollars cheaper.

All the guys I know that had to have 3.5" guns have never shot a 3.5" shell.
None of them.
-
I think stoger has a decent semi auto like the benelli for a good price.
-
Stoeger 2000. I used one for a month a couple years ago. Basically the same inertia action as the SBE but for much less money.
-
Wally world still has a few Berretta 390's layin around and I think they are sellin them for $579. I know it is under $600. Great guns. We own 4 of them between 3 of us and love them.

Go with the Stoeger M2000. It is a decent auto loader for the price.

What do you need the 3 1/2" shells for?

Just want to ba able to cover all my basis, thats all.
-
If you really want 3 1/2 for that price you are going to be taking a gamble on gun quality, stoeger makes one. If not, you could get one of the beretta 390's good guns, with a good price, not 3 1/2 though.
I shoot a benelli M2 and I havent felt undergunned with a 3" chamber.
-
If I find a 3" that feels comfortable to me, then I will get it. I am not set in stone, just looking for a resonable priced gun that feels good to me.
I did check out a Rem 11 87 yesterday and it felt a bit heavy :dunno:
Gonna look at the Stoeger, but the gun shop up the street does not have one in stock and really have not looked very hard yet, just keeping my options open and looking.

Do u got a bimart over there? I know the one here carries them
