Title: stand for euro elk skull
Post by: vandeman17 on April 14, 2011, 03:34:29 PM
I was wondering if anyone has ever built a little stand to put their european elk skull and horn mount on? The house I rent doesn't have tall enough walls to hang it so I was hoping that I could stand it up in the corner of the room. Instead of just leaning it against the wall and having all the weight on the nose I was thinking of building a little stand but not sure how to set it up. Any ideas?  :dunno:

I've never built one, but saw one at a store in Wyoming once that was pretty cool. It was made from a rough cut 6x6 with beveled top, had 2x6 legs on it. Had what looked to be a skull hooker attached to hang mount from. Was stained a dark walnut color. Don't have picture, but if u pm me with email address i can draw up what looked like and send you rough plan
