Does the Pearrygin unit have a lot of public land where the migrators come through or does it hold a lot of public ground? Have a lot of deer points and am trying to narrow my 2 choices down.
-
Yes. Have you looked at GoHunt? I don't think a lack of public land is an issue in that unit.

A lot of private land with many hunters. What's your next choice.

You've got to be joking? Only 15 permits and plenty of state land and National Forest. :dunno:

Thanks Bobcat.

Hey If you ever draw this tag plan on killing something big.. my boys have 10 pts for this unit too... everyone of my friends who drew that tag all took nice bucks....and 4 of them were on the game dept. land ... which I used to know the owners of that land before they sold out ... You will not have to drive 11/2 miles from town to bag a good one ...

I have 13 points for this years draws but haven't decided yet where to put in. I have it down to 3 choices, just trying to learn a little more on a couple of the units before i submit my apps. Thanks for the advice.

Well I am not to sure about the point system ..!!!!! I know alot of people who had mass points in 2008 and I had 0 ..I drew a tag and all my friends were p----d... so dont count on that ...
-
Yeah I know i thought i would draw last year since i put in for a unit that wasn't as popular but i know still held big deer. No such luck, maybe in another 5 years i'll draw.

There are some studs in this unit I live in conconully and the unit is straight up my hill, I drive it in the late season and see some monsters! two years ago I seen a massive 4x4 with double 10 inch drop tines! go figure the batteries are dead in my camera :bash: you cant go wrong putting in for the pearrygin unit!
-
So let's just tell everyone about the MONSTERS in pearygen unit.... :chuckle:
-
Might as well their not there in the early season and its almost impossible to get drawn in the late season

:yeah: ;)

Every late tag unit holds big bucks. Personally, I'd put in for the best genetic areas, and they aren't in the Pearrygin. ;)
