i was wounder what other hunters packed in there day packs and what i have in my pack that i really don't need or what i don't have that i might need. part of this question is because i am helping 4 other hunter get there packs ready and i don't want to tell them to get stuff they don't need or me forget to have them get something they might need. All 4 of them this will b there first time elk hunting and first time in WA. thank for everyones opinion

this is what i have in my pack
2 flash lights
wet weather gear
first aid kit
binno's
range finder
extra knife
knife sharpener
gps
head lamp
extra battery's
tape
compass
emergence blanket
fire starter
2 canteens
water purifier
25 feet of para cord
a map
orange marker tape
TP
and an emergence beacon

That all sounds like good stuff to me. One thing I can think of off the top of my head that I bring is an extra pair of gloves in case my primary ones get wet. They could also come in handy, no pun intended, if you had to stay out there overnight. I also pack a whistle and a little mirror in case I need to try and get somebody's attention.
