Title: what trail cam
Post by: atfulldraw on April 24, 2011, 06:17:44 PM: I want to buy a trail cam for the wet side but I don't know where to even start. I'm wanting to keep the price around $100 if that's posible. Any help would be great.

Post by: bobcat on April 24, 2011, 06:34:59 PM: I like the Moultrie D50 which Cabelas has for $80, but the only bad thing is battery life. You'll go through a lot of D size alkalines. Other than that one issue, they work pretty well and take good pictures.

Post by: buckreaper on May 16, 2011, 11:33:27 PM: I have two from Bushnell. Haven't had any problems so far (2 years). More than 100.00 though. Nice, clear pictures and the video works good also. I've read both good and bad about them but have had good luck so far.

By the way there is a 2 for 1 sale on them so if you find one look for the other one.... :bdid:

I guess it's not a problem if you don't mind buying 6 D batteries every 4 to 6 weeks. I suppose if you only had one camera, that wouldn't be so bad. But what if you have 5? Or 10?

Some of the trail cameras out now run on 4 AA batteries and will last for 3 to 6 months.

I have two off these I got them back a couple years ago on sale for $189.00. Work great with great picture quatity and battery life. For 140 I might get a couple more. After using them I felt the value for the money paid was acceptable.
