Hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question but how do you sign photos? Do you need a program like photoshop? I have Cannon Photo Professional (came with the camera I have) and don't see anything in the editing software to add a sig. I don't have any super duper photos but some are ok so I want to put a signature on them. (I know this is something I should be able to figure out but I'm brain challenged :chuckle:)
Thanks Tony

I just use paint and copy and paste my logo on them. Not sure how to do it fancy :chuckle:

Do you have a word processing program like Microsoft Word? If you do, just open it up, type in your signature, change the font to one that you want and the size you want it. Then highlight and copy it. Save the file to your desktop so it is always handy and easy to find.
Now that you have the signature copied to your clipboard you go into the photo editing software and look for either the Text tool (a Big T) or look on the command lines of the software for the Text command. That will put a cursor on your photo. Paste the signature on the photo and then move it around the photo to a place that pleases you. It's that simple! :) (hey, I figured it out, so anyone can do it! (I'm old and senile! :( ))

Look at one of my photos, highlight and copy it, then change the name in a word processor.

Cool! Thanks for all the help. I am gonna play with the different types of fonts and see what I like then I'll throw it on a photo and maybe post it up. I didn't realize all of those fonts existed in Word (I have the 2010 Professional version). Now I just gotta find a decent photo. Thanks again, Tony.

DPP does not have an option for adding text.

Bummer! :( Then I suggest downloading a free editing software like Gimp, Picasa or Photofiltre to add the signature! I use all three. :)

I agree. I remember researching this for about 4 hours trying to figure out how to add a sig. The one benefit of the research is I learned about all the tools DPP enabled me to use. :chuckle:

I use Lightroom 3.3, which is nice because it allows me to batch logo/watermark.
On another note, you can cut down your research time dramatically learning how to do things to photos and/or use software by typing the same questions you enter into google into Youtube. I have found watching someone else do the steps is WAY easier than reading about it and trying to figure out where the buttons/menus/thingamajiggy is.
Good luck!

Ok I figured it out and it is pretty easy. Thanks Grandpawrichard and everyone else, you steered me in the right direction. I also (didn't realize and am new to editing;Again, brain challenged :chuckle:) have ArcSoft PhotoStudio by Cannon and have never used it. It is very intuitive and easy to use and figured out the signature quickly. Now I just need to decide on a style. Anyways here is one photo taken with a Canon XS with a EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lense. (I know not the best but its all I got along with the 18-55mm. I like the reflection of it in the water.

Glad you found that ArcSoft program. I have never used that either. Great photo.
