Here are a couple of thunder-jakes that my son and daughter shot opening morning of general saeson. We called the first one in at 0600 and he strutted up to the primos decoy and that's all there was to it. My 10 year old daughter Hannah pulled the trigger for the first time on a bird and down went the bird. We were all excited, high fiving and hugging. Both of us, my 13 year old son Tommy and I, were very proud of her.
She wanted to go look at her first bird but we heard a distant gobble... Looking accross the wheat stubble field stood a nice bird and Tommy was anxious to have his chance at a bird. As soon as I started calling the bird started gobbling and running towards us. Soon we had the bird at 15 years. I told him to shoot whenever he was ready, he squeezed the trigger and down went thunder-jake #2.
By 0620 we had two birds down!! It was a very memorable morning and and a priceless memory for us all.

The smile on her face will be there for a very long time. I bet dad was smiling from ear to ear too. Nothing like spending time with the kids out hunting
