Here is my 7.62mm Firearms M14 that I ordered as a group buy with loaded bolt barreled action, back in 2010 it arrived 4/09 after some administrative anomalies, missing the chrome firing pin, according to the ad it comes with one, the tag on the rifle said that the head space is 1.633, but when I gauged it closed on a 1.637 gauge, the actual head space is 1.639 which is well within NATO specs. (I think it was a typo error on the tag).
The Parkerizing is dark and looks very nice as you can see. The machining is beautiful. When I assembled the rifle it took about 20 minutes. When I tried to install the stock the back half of the receiver was raised 3/16”. Whichever stock I tried it on I got the same results. My solution was to remove some material from the stock; so I removed 3/16” for the front half of the receiver and 1/16” for the back half. The fit was nice and tight. Filing and fitting the stock took a little over an hour, Total assembly time 1.5 hours. (Could there be an issue with the receiver? Possibly. [After building 5 1911’s and fitting just about every drop in part, I knew that I would encounter some minor fitting on the M14 build]).
She has a SA USGI chrome lined barrel, Winchester trigger group, Winchester bolt, commercial flash hider, op rod & gas cylinder with USGI piston. I used the LRB Arms parts kit, excluding the stock which is from CMP.
Fired 51 rounds flawlessly using reloads 168 grains BT’s with 42 grains of IMR 4064. The first eight rounds are mostly in the white, upper right side. The target is at 100 yards. The front sight blade was filed down by the previous care taker, (Uncle Sam). To compensate I had to lower the rear sight aperture all the way down. NO windage adjustment necessary, well maybe I could 1 to the left. The flyers you see are cause by me and not the rifle. I am near sighted so with my lenses I can see the target, but not the front sight post. Still, not bad for an old semi blind guy. I can tighten up those groups when I receive my new lenses.
I am extremely happy and satisfied with the rifle.
YES, I WOULD BUY AGAIN from 7.62mm Firearms even with the anomalies I experienced. WHY? Because I was very happy with the end result and 7.62 provides an excellent product at a very reasonable price.

Sanded it with 200 grit fine paper to remove some lacquer; then wet sanded with 600 grit paper 5 times allowing to dry for 24 hours in between sanding; then 12 coats of Tung Oil with 24 hours drying time between each coat. I need to put about 1 coat a week for the the next year to build up the oil then should use 000 steel wool to give it a dull finish.
Gorgeous wood on that rifle!

CMP E-store sells M14/M1A parts kit ( Kit "A" $600 includes all parts, but the bolt barrel & receiver ; Kit "B" $400 parts except, bolt, barrel, receiver, rear sight & gas cylinder).
LRB Arms sells parts kit as well same as Kit A above $469.99 my parts kit is from LRB.
I just traded one of my rifles for a CMP parts kit A & I ordered two bolts. One bolt is from Numrich gun parts, no clue who made the bolt. The other bolt is from US Armory; New in wrap TRW bolt. expensive, but I think it is great part.
Just start buying a part here and there and before you know it you have a complete parts kit. These are the places where I buy parts from.

Well done; I wish I had the one I built after getting hitched I sold it to get a hot water tank. I built one from a Springfield barreled reciver everything else was M-14; even found a complete trigger group at a gun show a long time ago.
