Title: Camera Shopping?
Post by: steeleywhopper on May 05, 2011, 10:44:46 PM
I tried a search here, but some of the stuff that was helpfull was a bit old. I am in the market for a camera. Just like others have asked, I don't want to break the bank and I would like to keep it around $500 max. I would like to have something that takes quick pictures, like as soon as you push the button and something with a good zoom quality without having to buy a bunch of 50 yard lenses for it. I don't know crap all about crazy settings I am just looking for something decent that will last me a while.  Would something like this be a decent deal? http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FZ35-Digital-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B002IKLJU0/ref=pd_sbs_misc_1 (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FZ35-Digital-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B002IKLJU0/ref=pd_sbs_misc_1)
Any input from you all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That camera will work great for what you are wanting to do.  However, be prepared to be drawn into the madness...   :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have a little Nikon s570 with an 8gb card. It takes beautiful pictures and movies. Pocket size for hunting, ATVing whatever. It was about $220 with the card.

I bought  the DMC fz about 2 years ago now, great camera. Can't do wrong with it, light, lots of options and the zoom is pretty darn good. A little bulky compared to others but I really enjoy the leica lens.

I dont think you can go wrong with the Lumix, but if you want a little more camera and still easy to carry, the Canon SX30IS is about the best out there.  I bought my wife one a month ago and it takes great pictures.
