The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has started selling wolf tags – $11.50 for resident hunters and $186 for nonresidents, vendor fees included.
Tags are available at license vendors and Fish and Game offices in Idaho. A valid 2011 Idaho hunting license is required to buy a tag.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service earlier today published the rule that removed wolves in Idaho from the endangered species list. The rule took effect upon publishing.
Gray wolves are now under state management and considered a big game animal.
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will set seasons, rules and limits later in the summer, according to the news release.

So who will be buying a license and tag?
I already have a lot planned for this season, but I am going to keep track of when the season is and what the rules are. If it fits in my schedule I would probably go, but I am sure there will be a number limit for non-resident tags.
Maybe we should look at a member group hunt. Anyone interested?

I'm interested. Need to see when the seasons and other specifics are laid out. I think a wolf hunt would be pretty cool.
-
I'm going to buy one.

Just bought Mine! :IBCOOL:
-
what was your total cost?
-
I'll go with an AR if i could find someone with a baying hound dog. :chuckle: Maybe a tactical shotgun with buckshot is a better option? :dunno:
-
Foxpro has a baying hound sound. but last year you couldnt use elctronic call's for wolfs any more. has that changed. i plan on trying to hunt. Rick

what was your total cost?
$154 for the hunting liscense (wich I had to buy anyways for my deer tags) and $186 for the Wolf tag. so $340 plus dealer costs.

If I remember correctly- Last year they were going to allow you to shoot a wolf with you deer tag or your elk tag..... Then the wolf season was cancelled. I wonder if they will allow you to do the same thing again this year????
-
I don't think they will let you shoot a wolf and use your deer or elk tag, but you can use your deer or elk tag to shoot either a bear or cougar. As I used my deer tag last year to shoot a cougar.
-
I'll be buying one, I already have the hunting lic.
-
I will get a tag if it looks like I have time to hunt. :mgun: :cue:
