my first bear pics. i wish now i would have cut the brush back. i did cut it out today when i picked up my cards. i was thinking maybe he was around 150 lbs. please let me know what you all think
-
it took me a bit to find this guy
-
The ears appear to be on the top of the head not the sides as shown in the 3rd picture. That is generally an indication of a smaller bear. I would guess that 150 would be the top end for that bear. More likely smaller than that. Just my opinion based on ones I've seen live. I could be wrong.
-
OK. i was just guessing, this is the first bear Ive seen out side of a zoo. now I'm really excited and ready for season
-
litle guy ... cool to get the picture anyway... :hello:
-
I've looked over litteraly hundreds of bears while hunting and one thing I've learned is that they are real hard to judge the size of. In a pic through brush? I'd give an educated guess of between 90-300lbs. :chuckle:
-
A just a little guy. they are always cool to see.
I fixed the title for ya. Not sure if you ment to put fst but I switched it to first.
-
thank you carpsniper.
i went and looked at some of the other bear pictures on here, he is small I'm very happy getting him on cam though. can anyone tell what is in the forth pic? i think is a bear but it look really small
-
No prob! I think its a cub maybe? Hard to tell either that or a black cat :chuckle:
-
went and pulled my cards again.
-
1 more
-
looks like a youngin recently kicked to the curb by mama ...cool pics....
-
thats your average size bear damn near, maybe a little smaller, dont see any cub in it..
-
Great pics! always nice to see bear pics, even smaller ones.
-
these bears have been in this area for over a year now that i know of since i just started hunting here in WA. How much do you think they will grow between now and season? Ive read every post on bear hunting but i am still having a really hard time telling how big a bear is and how much it might weigh. i thought that they were younger bears. I'm hopin that at least 1 of them is still there come season
-
join the crowd....as stated, judging bears is tough. The only way, IMO to get better at judging is to be out there and look at as many bears as posible. Kinda hard from a pic but I think the one in the last pic would suit just fine for your first bear. 120lbs. :twocents:

I just got done setting my trail cams at the meat hole. Two weeks from now I will drive back up and check them. Hoping to get get some shots like yours. What did you use to attract the bears?
-
caught this young one this week
-
i don't really understand these bears 5 weeks 6 maybe 7 bears but i think there all young bears. around the same size and i know there haven't been many killed off this area so why am i covered in small bears and how do i find the bigger ones?
-
You may have said, but if so, I missed it- which Tasco trail cam is this?
-
im not sure. i cant remember which 1 it is i'll check next weekend and let u know
-
I like the spot! Have with em. Bears are tough to judge.
-
looks like a real nice bear to me. i think i will be very happy with most of them ive had at my cam's.
-
Nice. Thanks for sharing.

you got a real nice spot. definitely would take any of those bears during the season.
