Normally start catching them the last two weeks of July, but the river should be loaded by mid-August, if the perdictions are right.

The Skagit should be loaded with pinks by the first weekend in Sept. I always hit the lower river on the opener and catch fish. If things are late this year then the second weekend.

Fish definetly start showing in numbers in August and by the first of September they should be thick but also start to color and slim up as some linger around...

me too. I'm not sure if puy and skagit get them exactly the same time though. WDFW may have some historical numbers they could share.

Might want to check the regs on when the different sections of the river opens.   But, by early Sept. the river should be fun for catch and release.  Pink jig or pink fly with a floating line.  It should be entertaining watching the folks put those big soft humps into their coolers :chuckle:
