Well after 4 long months i finally got back my trigger group and slide. Sent them off to Randy at CPC in Conneticut. He stoned the hammer and sear Installed a overtravel trigger stop and forward anti-creep screws. Now it breaks nicely at 2 pounds. As for the slide he redone the headspace to .0425,cut and squared the bolt face, chamfered the slide (smoother function), installed auto bolt release and pinned the fireing pin so you get a more consistant stike (reduces flyers) and prism jewelled the outside (something to catch the ladies eye). Ive put on a VQ picitinney rail, mag release, v-block , barrel compensater and extended bolt. The gun was a tack driver before all the mods. Hopefully it wil be even better after all the $ ive put in to it. Now im trying to decide which stock to get.

That is very nice. What is wrong with the stock it has now? That stock is very cool.

I'm wanting a thumbhole for it.
-
And how much $ are we talking about?
-
All the work to the trigger and slide was Just north of $2oo. Total into the gun well thats another story.
-
Just in case you haven't found it yet; there are usually a lot of stocks for sale with fairly reasonable prices on the Rimfirecentral classifieds. I've got several from there.
Great looking 22! How does it shoot?

Look at the Anschuetz target stocks that Bell and Carlson makes for them too...they are bitchin...
What barrel are you running?
Good looking rig.

I've got a Randy CPC bolt in my 10/22. Nice work. BTW, if you EVER take the trigger apart, you'll never get the bushings back the way they were...trust me.
-
Thanks for the heads up thinkingman.
-
That's cool! Never would have considered jeweling a 10/22 but that looks pretty cool :chuckle:

Those are great stocks, especially if you are going to do some silouette shooting.

Great looking 10/22. Is that a stock Ruger hammer forged varmint barrel? I've been looking at getting one of them for my next one.
Oh and by the way, the triggers are really easy to work on. I've done probably 20 or 30 of them. It takes about an hour to stone one down to a crisp, and clean 2 1/2 to 3 lbs. Just make sure you go really slow and put it together and check it often. I usually do the assembly- disassembley around 15-20 times per trigger job. (You will get real good at putting them together after one trigger job!) Also, put a little piece of Q-tip, round toothpick or something the same size as the trigger pin in so the disconnector/ sear/trigger/spring are a sub-assembley. It will go back together real easy then.

Tim the stock is yours after I get a new one. I thought about the Fagen but it's to tactical for this build. Thinking of getting a Richards microfit (tac driver). Yes Castlerock it is a stock barrel.

Don't let looks deceive you...the Fajen isn't even a tactical stock . It is benchrest/silhoutte stock....

I,ve looked at that one but i dont think the color is right. Im looking for the same color as the stock thats on it. Ive found a couple at Stockysstocks.com but just havent decided which of the two I want.

Well I finally got the new stock for my 10/22. Went with an anchutz (spelling) thumbhole in black/gray laminate. Hopefully I will get some time to take it out and shoot it this weekend.
-
what was the total price tag on this venture? i've been considering doing teh same thing with a 22mag version though.
-
total price is a little north of $1000.00 just got back from shooting it. It shoots excellent at 50 yards off a rest 10 shots touching. Im sure it will do alot better once i find ammo it likes. I just grabbed a box I had in the safe to sight it in. I also bedded the new stock and free floated the barrel.
