Well my uncle made his yearly trip over from the wet side this weekend for his turkey hunt. I didn't have time to scout the area due to working out of town. We had shot a tom their last year so we decided to try the same thing this year. The birds were there but not talking alot in the roost but they were there. Just before sunrise a yote came running across the field in front of us, I guess that's why :dunno: :). The birds came out of the roost the opposite direction so we had to relocate to a upper field. Just before we got to our spot we see 5 birds on the corner of the field. We were able to sneak in and set up and then I went through the trees and came out about 400 yards in front of the birds and did the famous "turkey drive" (a few people on here know what I am talking about), pushed the birds right in front on my uncle, then BOOOM BOOOM , another bearded hen down. He shot one two years ago about a half mile from this spot. Congrats to him :tup:. We love having him come over and look forward to the fall when deer season is here.

That bird kind a looks like a tom to me(although his tail does look a little short), was it full of eggs, or why do you think it is a bearded hen? Just curious.

She had 6 eggs in her and even without the eggs, everything about her was hen. Head, body, color ect... I will try to load a picture of the eggs along with a avocado seed

Interesting to note the progression in size of those eggs.

What about that bird looks like a tom? It definitely has every characteristic of a hen from what the pic shows.........???

How big was the beard? You have any pics of it?

Its hard to tell but the two eggs on top are connected. I don't know what that means but it was pretty interesting, maby someone on here knows. The profile picture of goducks is the picture of the beard, it is about 3 1/2 inches. I will have him post a bigger pict of it.

here is the beard. If it wasn't at about 25 yards I never would have seen the beard. She was on a little knoll and it was highlighted
