Title: ruger sr9c for a carry gun?
Post by: D-Rock425 on May 22, 2011, 06:55:23 AM
I've been looking at the ruger sr9c for a carry gun.  I like the feel of the gun but I really wanted a .40 Cal.  they make an sr40 but not in a compact.  Is the 9mm a good choice for a carry round?  I'm not to worried about having it in the woods it will be more for every day carry.

I have a Glock .40 , SR9C , and a Ruger .380
I Love my Ruger SR9c. I carry it more than my ruger .380 I have inside the belt holsters for both the .9 & .380 and I still preferrer the SR9c . Love the way it feels, and shots great. Actually been thinking of selling my .380 since I hardly carry it any more.

As good as the modern self defense 9mm ammo is I never feel undergunned carrying a 9mm.  I would also never worry about carrying or shooting a Ruger. Very well made, affordable, and American made gun. I shot the SR9C and almost bought one, but waited until the LC9 came out and bought it instead. Zero regrets so far. 400-500 rounds without a hickup. I decided to use Hornady 115gr FTX loads and have ran 5 boxes through it so far.

Nice thing about the LC9 is that a T shirt covers it up. No excuse for not carrying...
