Title: Hound hunting around Granite Falls?
Post by: bowman on May 22, 2011, 08:43:35 PM: I went to check my trail cam today in the Granite Falls area and I was walking a logging road that is closed to motorized vehicles. A truck drove by me and had a hound on the hood of his truck and about 3 or 4 in the bed of his truck. About 5 minutes later another truck drove by and same deal a hound on the hood and few more in the bed. Just wondering is there a pursuit season going on? Or could this be a private timber company taking out some bears?

Post by: bobcat on May 22, 2011, 09:46:29 PM: Yeah they probably had a depredation permit for bears. Back when I worked in the woods I used to run into those guys all the time at this time of the year.

Anyways they must not be doing that great of a job haha. Or their dogs suck. I'm not worried.

Don't worry they are not going to kill every bear out there. Nothing funner than hunting bears with dogs, I wish this tree huggin lovin state would pull it's head out and let us get back to the way it used to be.
