Title: XADO ceramic metal gun barrel coating?
Post by: Jekemi on June 02, 2011, 08:53:35 AM
Does anyone have any experience with this product? Some sites give it rave reviews while others say it's a scam. The cost of the product is $39. you treat the barrel as you shoot. you inject the gel into the barrel then take 10 shots. Then you treat it again with the second gel and take 10 more shots. I've read the literature and it sound scientific but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

Never heard of it. Lot's of the gun "experts" are saying good things about ultra borecoat you might want to check it out.

Personally, I would never shoot a gun with anything in the barrel.  I'm even leery of a coat of gun oil in the bore, even though a ligt coat would do no harm.  Just me.

Well that's just the thing about XADO. There isn't any actual coating in the barrel. The chemical cleans and hardens the steel, sharpens the rifle grooves, and creates and ultra-smooth, ultra-clean finish leaving nothing behind. The chemicals actually react with the steel and form a highly polished, hard, ceramic finish. I talked to a guy who uses XADO on engine parts and is amazed at the performance increase due to friction reduction.
