Just wondering if anyone has been down to the Joe and how far you can get up into the hills? Thanks

Elkinrut, do u mean unit 7 and 9 in Idaho Q. I would call Wallace and avery town gas station ask them about conditions. I have went there a lot maybe 9 trips each spring but I haven't went this spring.
Hope it help. I think Machias has some infos since he been checking out where to go for himself too.

I know the St. Joe is running hard and fast right now, but know nothing about the roads... Yeah, call the Avery FS office, they will know for sure.

Just talked to a friend who lives in St Maries, and he said there is not many open non-snow covered roads in the uper Joe right now. >:(

I got to 4,800 feet in my suburban before I was forced to turn around on a north face last sunday. That is not very high for the area. The river has recessed to high bank level.

Thanks guys, I wanna get down there and do some scouting soon but I am probably jumping the gun. I'll call and see what info I can get.
