Cool pic. I wish I have good camera when I saw two Bats hanging on wall. I tried to get camera closer all sudden one another bat flew hit my head. Sound like pissed bat. I almost got rabies yesterday. :yike:
Never again.

:chuckle: Think what would have happened when the flash went off :bdid: :chuckle: there would have been some screeching and it would not have been the bats :chuckle:
-
That's funny one. I thought about it but..... I need new camera like bone. So I can stand 20 feet away instead reach my camera to two feet from Bat.

With my reflexes, I don't think I'll be looking you in the eye :chuckle:

Is there a good or bad time of year to eat rattler? Great photo, but if I was that close to him, he'd be on the dinner menu.

Judging by the focus, it must have been a looong telephoto lens!

I doubt that very much. Short lens, Maybe a Macro lens? F-stop up and not using a flash, with focus right on the nostrils will blur the background just as it is. I'm bettin that Doug was closer than most of us would think about getting to that snake.

Playing that close to snakes... :bdid:
Nice pic though.

I look forward to his rattler pics every spring.
I looked into the eye...too close for me. Glad I live on the wet side.
-
Close enough to have to wipe the venom off my lens when he decided to strike it. About 6 inches from the barrel of the lens.
