I know the fox pro is suppose to be the best but i just can't swing the price for a while. what are ya'll recommendation for some cheaper high value callers?
-
Well, if you must buy an electronic call, take my advice, get something that doesn't have a cord.....cords suck.
But, if you want something much less expensive, without a cord...did you ever think of a hand call???

My brother has a Western Rivers and with it we called in two bears, a week apart. You don't hear much about them but it worked for us.
-
Look for a Johnny Stewart PM4. Limited sounds on card, but the best sounds in the world, and a reasonably decent caller.

Who says that foxpro is the best?

call foxpro and get a refurbished one. i got an fx5 with tsx 200 remote along with 50 sounds of my choice for $350. they have other models to talk to jared its a great deal. helped me swing the price. i love mine. i had a western rivers it work for 1 yr and screen went t japanese signs and wouldnt go back it now rests in the local landfill.

I agree about cords, by the way, you'll hate 'em.
For $189 new, or you can troll the predator hunting boards classifieds for a used one, you can't beat the PM4 for an entry level cheap-o. You don't need a ton of sounds, you just need good ones. JS are awesome. And the unit quality is solid.
Foxpros are great callers, but you won't get a good one for that kind of money. JS is still a strong recommend, and I know the market! I don't own one, but I've played with them. I have several thousand dollars in my e-calling gear... to start low buget, go JS4.

i use Foxpro have a Fury.listen to what steve said JS has awsome sounds. Rick ;)

I have used a Johnny Stewart PM4 for years and I would advise anyone to try them. I have tried some of the other brands and never really liked the sound quality or the reliability of them. I like the quick change out of sound cards, the over all construction, and the range of the PM4. Everytime I have bought a "new and improved" system, or a hunting friend purchases one, we go try them out and abuse them for a couple months. But somehow we always end up back using the PM4. :twocents:

Foxpro all the way. The spitfire is like 200.00 which is one of the chepest out there as far as price. You can also find good deals on the fx3 and fx5. I have had several and now have the fury! That is the best caller made in my mind.
