I dont post on here much but couldnt resist sharing these pictures. They are a bit blurry, I was trying to zoom and get some good closeups but they all turned out on the grainy/blurry side.
I was over on the peninsula this weekend so I took my my buddy up some FS roads to show him where I used to hunt. I saw this cougar cross the road and go down the hill so I grabbed my camera and we jumped out of the truck to try and get some pics. It stood about 30 yards down the hill watching us for literally a few minutes while I was taking pictures. Finally it decided to move on and slowly walked away. It didnt have the slightest worry that I was there, even took a couple steps towards us at one point.
Enjoy!

Awesome pics thanks for sharing...cat pics are always cool to see since they are pretty rare sightings.
-
awesome ... not everyone gets to see that .....
-
Very cool. I've seen a bunch, but never got to take a photo.

Thanks everyone. I was pretty excited it stayed around so I could get some pics of it.

Cool photos to say the least! It is definitely an adrenaline rush to be close to big cats that often watches us, but rarely detected or photographed..
-
Sweet pics!

That last pic sure does tell you why you never see them! It would be hard to notice that cat unless you knew it was there! scary! :yike:
-
Every time I see a coug pic now, I am reminded about the one that stalked me and my bro. I never realized how white their chins are till then...
great pics! Thanks for posting.

Lets hear the stories if you dont mind sharing them!!!!
-
Very nice.... I would probablly sneak over give her a hug.
Mulehunter. :chuckle:

Wow! That type of situation hardly ever happens. Of all the cats that Ive seen over the years, none have ever been that close for more than a second and then they usually silently vanish. Congrats! Was this on huntable land??????
-
awesome pics thanks for sharing
-
Im not sure it wanted a hug mulehunter. Be happy to take pics of you trying to hug one though :)
Ouchfoss, yes it is on national forest land. Its in an area I have wanted to try calling at for a couple years now, I havent tried before though. I will be up there come fall!

I have seen the look on it's face up close and personal before. They have absolutely no fear. Fortunately, I was able to shot the one that was looking at me but I will never forget the confidence that I saw in it's eyes.
-
It does not look nervous just hungry. You shuld have had your buddy take off running down the road and got some live action camera shots? :chuckle:
Cool pictures..
-
:yeah:

Awsome catch. I have only seen about 6 cougars in the wild and only had one opportunity where I could have snapped shots. That's a challenge. They always see you, but most rarely see them.

A cat sighting and then pics, wow! Good share
