Iam not to mad that i didn't get drawn for any tags, but my dad who has 7 points for elk didn't get any thing!!!!!! He is disabled and i had him put in for that tags also but nothing :bash: This state sucks for getting tags, iam done with this state, my money is going out of state from know on i think. This will more than likely be my dads last year of hunting he is 63 years old and has MS. So getting around any more is getting harder on him. He has never shot a elk in this state in 35 years. I was realy hopeing he would get a chance to shoot a bull while we b oth of us could still hunt with each other. To all of you that drew tags this year congrats to you and best of luck.

yeah it really is a joke !!!!but what ya do !!!

I feel your pain.
Patience is what it takes to get drawn, even for the disabled. My dad is disabled to, but never did draw a bukk tag before he quit hunting. Got a few doe tags over the years but never did hang a set of antlers on wall, and i feel bad for him every year I go out and he can't anymore.

Most of the disabled hunter permits are harder to draw than the regular ones. Especially since they put them in their own category. :bash:
What does it take to draw? Lots of points, or lots of luck.

It took me 11 points,

My dad as well as several friends are using a calculator right now to add their points. Several of them have 15 or so with no tags to show for it. I am a fan of our system though. Look at Oregon, by the time my kids are old enough to hunt, it'll take 30 or more points to have a shot at a premier tag. Atleast everyone has a shot here.

Brother in law and i have 14 each. I look forwad to this time every year. I am realistic with my expectations, but i also know that it is all luck and i havn't had the luck yet.
We put in for colorado also, and we have 8 points for CO. and we will never draw the big units there because we are 12-15 points behind the max point holders.
I like that i have a chance to draw every year. Seams like this topic comes up every time we talk about drawing permits. You still have a general tag...

might need to be a WDFW employee, relative of one, or turn in poacher. It seems that the poacher guys are always awarded tags the following year.
I feel the pain...been at it for awhile myself. I felt pretty confident in having a reasonable chance this year but nothing...for the one I was hoping for.
Is it too late to buy a Montana tag? They don't sound all that expensive now... :chuckle:
