Title: Dove scouting
Post by: satchel3006 on June 14, 2011, 10:45:39 PM
My friend turned me on to dove hunting last year and I kinda bumbled into some ok spots but this year I figured I do a little scouting (plus I think it would be fun to let my 3 year old tag along). So what should I look for? Is there a certain time I should be looking? Dawn or dusk? I'm not looking for spots I'll find those my self just looking for the ingredients that make for a good area. Thanks

dawn and dusk is when they are usually flying to and from their feeding spots. i usually just find an open field next to an orchard where they fly back and forth to eat and rest... but i have even seen guys sitting in the middle of the fields with a lawn chair and no cover knocking them dead... they are very stupid birds that are very easy to figure out.
