If you don't think that all the big bucks that were killed in there last year won't take its toll on this years quality harvest, you're dead wrong. :twocents:

we got Chewach which was the second choice and pearrygin being first .. but we be happy with that ...
-
Well good to those that have the tag as we had it last year and it was awesome. Based on the sheds found from spring I would not be worried that the population was hurt last fall. Horn growth is great thus far for the year. Good luck!

did you shed hunt in Pearrygin and how big were the sheds ?
-
I didnt but others did I knew and there were some awesome deer that made it to the spring. Plus what I saw up there during the late hunt and that there were only 15 tags things should be great. I was hoping to draw again with only 1 point but didnt. I did draw a branch bull tag though. I have never shot an elk so I am excited for the opportunity.

it has been 8 years trying for this tag. someday the sun will shine  good luck to all that have this hunt. j

My advise is if you want a certain tag for a certain area never pick more than that one choice when you apply... last five years we just applied for pearrygin only and this year we picked a couple different units along with pearrygin and drew chewach ... not that I am complaining but I would of rather drawn pearrygin.....plus I drew a quality bull a couple years ago and used one pick and drew it ....

Theres always next year!!

Should be a great hunt

We got to know the country up above Pearrygin Lake pretty well. My brother and I bagged two respectable bucks during the late hunt last year. The Chewuch should be very fun for the guy who drew that tag. Good luck.
-
Chewuch is an awesome tag. A friend of mine lives in that area and has been trying to get it for 12 years. There are some monsters on there.
-
Some decent deer in chewuch.
