If anyone has any pictures or information from the Kapowsin area for 2011 I would love to see and hear what you have.
-
welcome lets see some of your pics from past hunts
-
You have a kapowsin tag and an entiat tag??
-
:yeah: Yes, I have both it should be the best year ever for hunting. How this happened I do not know I only had 4 points for deer.
-
You have a kapowsin tag?
-
Yes, I have a Kapowsin and a late rifle Entiat Tag it should be a very exciting and fun year of hunting.
-
Thats great have you scouted the area at all this year?

I hate you :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Yes, I have a permit. I have not scouted this year at all, but will be soon.
-
Rasbo, was wondering same i guess i could have been a little more direct rather then asking if he had been scouting the area
-
I have to ask, how long have you been buying a pass?
-
Yes, I have a permit. I have not scouted this year at all, but will be soon.
which tag did you draw, elk what, bull cow,
-
Bull, Did not know they had cow tags. As far as the permit goes I think about 7 or 8 years.

lucky dog you, that many yrs you should have it down.there is a bull on everyhill
-
Well Rasbo, consider this the luckiest hunting year of your life. In Washington, your hunting OPPORTUNITY doesnt get much better than your draws this year. Plan on spending $$$$ at the taxidermist.

wish I would have drawn something,20 plus yrs no bull tag for kapowsin
-
I know the area but only visit about 12 times a year and usually during deer season and the big bulls seem to disappear for the most part. I heard that 10 or 11 of the tags were used during muzzle season last year. If that is the case it would be really hard not to be 1 of 2 guys on the property during rifle. What would you do?

My dad and uncle are in the same boat as you. I have only had to buy my own pass for last few years because I used to be able to get in on my dads before I was 18 so I havent been in the drawing very many times. I like the new way of being entered when you buy a pass better than being able to buy up to 15 chances for 15 dollars a pop or whatever it used to be. I didnt even buy a pass this year. Would be an awesome tag to hunt there are some monsters in there

If you've had a permit for 7-8 years and visit 12 times a year, you should be showing us some pics, not the other way around. It's kind of like saying "I go to the bars and get laid once a week" and then asking others how to pick up women.

my uncles 2003 kapowsin bull. drew the rifle september tag bugled this 6x8 in from 1000+yrds to 65yds for a broadside shot. TONS of huge bulls in the area made him pass up on a 6x6 standing just off the road becuase i knew there were some monsters there. this bull was a dandy had a palm on the right side of his antlers off of the 5th and 6th point the palm had 2 branches off of it very unique bull called him straight out of a wallow cuz he was covered in nasty mud he looked like a black horse with a huge set of antlers. the next day a guy shot a bigger 7x7 that scored 380" a few hundered yards from where my uncle shot his
-
You should have a good hunt. I have a friend who took a dandy from Kapowasin. Good luck!
-
I had a spring Bear tag in there this year. The hunt ended June 15th. I saw Elk on most days that I was bear hunting. Some looked like they would have some nice head gear when the growing was done. That's a great tag and you should be able to find a very nice Bull to tag out
-
I would suggest the muzzleoader hunt. The rut is still going on strong and its only you and the other guys who got drawn in there. Every other permit holder is cut off from access. You shouldn't have a problem locating bulls prior to season and during the hunt.
-
heres a few i have coming in to my cam.im still hoping to draw that tag one day. muzzleloader would be a good bet, ive heard them bugling still on opening of deer season in there. my brother and i always wonder what weapon we would hunt with in there if one of us got drawn..id love to take one with my bow in there.
-
ya you better just find a good taxidermist shanek! i might know someone. if u need someone to go scouting with u let me know. could be a good competition between your kapowsin hunt and my new mexico hunt
-
Were you 1 of the six for the Kapowsin side or the only 1 drawn on the Eatonville side? Just curious, because I have an Eatonville pass, I know that I didn't draw (again). What side are you going to hunt? What weapon?
-
600 line X the creek go left up hill to the right.Just as you get to the clearcut theres a 300 320 7x7 almost every evening on the left side bedded at the edge of the jack firs.
-
I will be hunting the Kapowsin side through the office gate I think. That could change as the big bulls heard up their cows. Have heard of a couple big bulls on the Eatonville side but have not seen them. Any pics would be great and thanks for the info about the 600 road.
-
The one on the left is a nice 7X6 we saw the other day. I would love to see this one opening morning.
-
There are bigger than that in there, just a matter of bumping into him!

x2 them are average elk
-
Don't see very many with any width on this tree farm this one seems to have a little? Is the one on the left 320+?
You can't see his 5th point in the picture but he is a solid 6 with the little 7 on one side.
I will have a hard time not pulling the trigger on him if I get a chance...
-
That bull only looks like he's about 300 from the pictures. There are bigger bulls, but if you are happy with that then I would suggest dropping the hammer if you see him during the season. Either way, its still a very respectable bull! :twocents:
-
Thanks for the advice....I guess I better do some more scouting soon. Last weekend the bulls were still in velvet and in bachelor groups does anyone no if the BIG bulls are with cows yet?
-
Saw this guy last august up the 2 road back behind the kapowsin gate. Followed him down the road to where he went over the edge and stoped at 100 yards and just looked at us!!! Its always awesome to get out there and see a lot of animals!! You got your self a very "Wanted" tag. Congrats and good luck!

the last nice bull I seen, was tearing up the area so its coming on

If you are going to hunt the Eatonville side, I suggest going up high on the 1551, I have seen a few big bulls up there this year and a big 6x6 up high on the 6000. The 1550 would be worth a shot as well because they are a few new clearcuts up high that have a lot of fresh green vegetation in them, well at least as of last week. Good Luck.
