Title: Coyote with my bow
Post by: Carnivore on July 03, 2011, 06:14:12 PM: This guy had been coming around stealing apples from my deer food on my property for a while now. I caught him on the trail cam several times so I decided to try to get him. I got up early before work a couple of days and Saturday too and sat in the loft of my barn with a good view but he never showed. Today when I went down to mow the lawn I saw him down by the barn and ran and got the bow. I put the stalk on and connected at 30 yards quartering away. I hit a little back but it did the job. One more arrow to make sure of the kill when I found him. It's my first coyote and done with a bow. Too bad he didn't have a tail to keep.

I want one with my bow BAD! I've got em with the rifle and shotgun, just need to add the bow... Just remember, a good coyote is a dead one... a shot far back on a yote still kills him!

I would say you definately put the hurt to that bad boy !!!!!! :tup:

HOT TIP! Yacolt Burn gate (out of Yacolt) has been open lately. Saw 15 yotes all together in the first newer clearcut on left after going through the gate. Eagles have killed a few so look for ravens. The Alpha Male in that group is a Hawg of a dog.

I'd use a rodent squeeler or a very soft cottontail call. Think it's a little late to break out the howler, but if nothing is working giv'er a try. Since pups are young you want to get inside the trees to call. They'll be avoiding open areas. Especially after having a few brothers and sisters taken out by raptors.
