Spent a week up in the Ruidoso area, seen lots of critters. Just wondering if anyone has hunted that area.
Thanks

A little. That area is a pretty good deer area, especially on the east side of the mountains where the apple orchards are. On the westside, there were imported critters that roamed the missile range---ibex and oryx.

DEER? That's world class elk country dude
I been through there many times and seen several beasts. There's so many they even come out go the main highway.one night I nearly hit a 4x4 that would be considered a shooter by WA standards that was probably 1.5 yo. I shot a 4x4 mullie out to the east in 31 a few years ago.
Standby for a pic or two.

Spend a couple weeks elk hunting in Ruidoso last year. Disappointed in the overall numbers of elk we saw and the trophy quality. What I noticed most was the scores that the locals were throwing out at the elk they had hanging and in the back of trucks. Never saw so many 270" bulls that were referred to as 320's. Fun time and a great atmosphere though. I hope you ate the buffet at Inn of the Mtn Gods though!

Oh yes I ate there and then gave them 320.00 to play. :chuckle: I am going to go back up when they get this fire under control and they open the woods back up.
Thanks
