Anyone been fishing the San Juans Area 7 for Chinooks at all? I was up there this last week and fished about 3-4 days, mostly around Decatur Head and in Thatchers Pass and didnt get damn thing 'cept a dogfish and a shaker that a seal stole from me! There was bait, seals, and boats all around me but I didnt see one net go out or any other fish caught. Then I get to the boat launch to pull out at Wa. Park in Anacortes yesterday and the guy there is saying everyone fishing up at Obstruction Pass and on top of Blakley (I was at the bottom of Blakely) was catching fish and limiting in an hour! Figures, thats the story of my life - a dollar short & a WEEK late! SON OF A B*****! :bash:
I'm going back up on the 15th for the crab opener but who knows where in the heck the kings will be at then! :dunno:

Went out for a short trip on Sunday. Fished Tide Pt. during the tide changes. Had about the same luck as you - dogfish and all. There must have been 50 boats working it when we gbot there. Lots of bait, fair amount of fish marked. Should have been whackin' 'em in there. Saw a few nets out early, not much after that.

South west side of SanJuan was always good for me this time of year. Don't be afraid to fish @ 100+' or 30 feet trolling a bucktail fast.
