Title: Any experience with Rancho 9000 shocks?
Post by: HntnFsh on July 14, 2011, 05:11:48 PM
My 98 Chevy 3/4 t. 4x4 has the stock shocks on it.Its time for new ones.Ive been kicking around putting a set of Rancho 9000 xl adjustables on. I can get them for $317 for 4 delivered. Then a $100 Rancho rebate.

Thought they might also help with the ride when hauling my camper.

Any input?

Thanks
HntnFsh

we have them on the jeep, we adjust them depending on the trails we are on makes a difference in the ride. couldnt tell you about hauling a camper with them since we have the airbag setup on the truck.

I'd put air bags on for your camper, pretty much everyone is over their weight limits when hauling a camper with 3/4 ton truck. Let the air bags assist with the weight and the shocks do what they do.

for the shocks you might look into bilstein too

i like the adjustablity of them softer for the trails and firmer for the road so it does improve the ride for us. helps cut down on the sway a lil bit. It's enough of a difference to be noticeable

Had them on a previous truck I used for heavy loads. They are nice.

With the rebate you mention.. That's a good deal.

I have them on the front of my yota, great for what I use them for and have lasted for a long time.

I had them on my old Mitsubishi PU and ran the crap out of them on logging roads.  Had great luck with them.

Been running them for years - move them to full stiff in dunes and bumps, have even run them in jump competitions.  Full soft for cruising.  Have held up great.  I have a pair up front, singles in rear.  Adjust with remote box.
