Any locals have a feeling on when the berries will start showing in the colville, republic area?

As soon as they get out from under the snow!!!! :o

still little green beads at 3500ft in the huckleberries.....

I dont thick there is going to be a crop up high.
It just hasnt been warm enough to be productive, at least over here. Hell I looked at Snotel the other day and it was 38 degrees at 10AM at 5K ft up in the blues. This is not productive berry growing weather.
I really think that they are gonna be too late and end up freezing out. I hope I am wrong because if they make it this will be one of the few years where I could hunt bears over Hucks.

my wife, our son & her brother got some yesterday. don't know where, guessing low on south baldy or maybe the campground just north of Newport on the eastside of the river. they brought me a cupful while I was still at work. guessing it was up the hill though since they thought it hilarious that they took "Christine" (my Dodge Charger) up in the woods & I wasn't happy about that part of it.

I just came back from a 40 mile ATV ride all around Republic,Swan Lake area, no berries whatsoever. None. We went places that 4x4's couldn't go, nothing. I'm wondering the same thing.

So I'm not the only one who is not seeing berries! Last weekend went to a few of my "Honey Holes" all small and they looked like garden peas. Have heard that the crop is better over the border so it maybe a recon run soon.
