:rockin: :fishin:
Then about 5 minutes later it seemed like boneaddict hooked the same fish I let go :chuckle:
-
Right on guys. Someday I hope to try sturgeon fishing.
-
sturgeon fishing is a blast, I hope you guys catch a couple of those prehistoric old bastages out there........catch one like this.......
here are my two buddies from the tri-cities area.....steve and ronnie

catch one like this.......
...but please don't stick your hand in its gills like that.
-
Picture of HuntWa with a Sturgeon he got..... Boneaddict in some fighting mode with a fish and Pope taking a close up of the close in action...... Huntnphool landing one.......... And the BEST pose of the day! Say Cheese. Never mind.... Good time for sure, learned some good areas on Washington side, learned that not all Lawyer jokes are funny till later in the day..... Best of all, got to meet some good guys and fun water ride back in...
-
Cohoho, I had a great time and thank you. Thanks to Huntnphool, Boneaddict and Pope as well for the company. :hello:
Too bad we didn't get any photos of the elk. :dunno:
-
Anytime, maybe next time we'll hit them a bit harder......
-
Great pics,
-
Love them sturgies. Great pics.
Jay if i saw someone haul a fish like that out of the water with a hand in the gills for a "make me feel good about myself photo" i would be making a phone call... No reason to do that, if that was a big female and she had eggs, be sure that she lost them... There goes another spawning class, just for a photo... If you turn them over they will just lay there, if ya want a photo do it with them in the water not out...
-
Thanks coho for the pics. It was alot slower than our first trip, but still good company, and a good day on the water. The weather wasn't as nice as the pics might portray, but when the sun came out, so did the fish. Doesn't matter though in boat like thes guys have. It could get real nasty and life would still be good. ANOTHER great day on the water THANKS to Huntnphool. I Really appreciate it Rob, and the family enjoyed the weekend in Astoria.
Good to meet you Ray and Mike. Funny, you introduced yourself real quick in the morning, and off we went. I was talking to Rob for a second and said there sure are alot of Rays out there with MRay(whose not really Ray at all) and Huntwa and cohoho's friend Ray. He just kind of looked at me strange. That is Ray from Huntwa. OK so I am a bit slow. I don't know, I had a picture of bosworth from california archery hunting in my hea with blonde hair...........anyhow, I think it took Pope by surprise too, so I don't feel so bad.
The best quote of the day was after we dropped Rob's friend off, and came back to reclaim our spot......Cohoho chimes in over the radio noticing we were missing our fourth, "what did you do throw the lawyer over for bait." :chuckle:
-
p.s. the blonde on the other boat looked much better than you guys did.......j/k who knows what we were looking at.
-
Everytime we saw Bone, he was outside sitting on the engine cover, then it hit us, he was too tall to stand up inside, even then, I think he would have hit his head.
-
:chuckle: Nah, boat was plenty comfortable, I was just anxious for some action and I was waiting to rip some lips. We went in for awhile and shut the doors when the wind got bad, and I was joking that I might be replacing a cover because if I saw a rod twitch, I might just drop a shoulder and go through. :) Mostly, I'm from the Wenas, so the wind doesn't bother me too much.
-
Had another great time with you guys, just wish the fish would cooperate a little better. Here is a pic I got of Huntwa and his first sturgeon.
-
Hey I know that hole!!!! Nice job Huntwa! :)
-
Excellent !!! ;)
It is good to see you all made it down there again before the end of the season.
Congrats on your first one Ray !! (https://hunting-washington.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10689/firefire.gif) Thats awesome !!
Nice looking boat Cohoho, you'll have to get some halislime on it next !!
Nice Job guys !!

I know, I was just telling my buddy in AK, that I needed Bear blood as it's initiation and right of passage strewed around in a 360 of the boat. This weird ritual each year brought my other boat luck all season. I guess since there is really no spring bear unless drawn, even less opportunities from boat, I have had to settle with Springer and some Sturgeon, but think personally Halibut might just be the ticket....... In the end, I guess I'll have to settle for some Sheep blood from the Lake Chelan region WHEN I get drawn..... Still trying to name the boat, but haven't fully committed on COHOHO yet as was the old boat....
-
Better go with "Steel hooker" or something like that since the coho are few and far between down here.
-
How bout this "S.S. Cohoho"
"S" for Springer "S" for Sturgeon "Cohoho"
Ok here is a better one "Fugarwee" :dunno:

My dad and I always say we are official members of the Fugawee tribe. Even though we could always look at the GPS........
-
Is that so when you get lost you just say where the Fugarwee?
-
yup :chuckle:
-
I have a battered old livingston I call "the filthy whore"

Fun day guys. Thanks Phool for the invite. That was definitely the highlight of my vacation as I had to hang out with the inlaws for 5 days straight... It's just good to get out, tell some stories, hear some lawyer jokes, and catch a fish.

Man, One lawyer joke and I am cast...... But....... there is the one about the defense attorney I didn't get too... One of these days would love to do a camping /fishing trip and here some good stories from you guys, all is fun in my world.......
-
We should get a hunting-washington campout going! Would love to spend time with all of you around a campfire shooting thbreeze and lying about all the fish and game.
-
I'm in as long as it involves some kind of fishing... This Sturgeon fishing is way too cool. Catching Dinosuars, I beginning to love it...

Well there are plenty of camp spots down where we were, we could always make it a catch and release campout, more about the campfire anyway. :cmp1: :cue: :party1: :fishin:
-
Count me and the boys in if there is room !!!
-
Cohoho could probably get a few on his boat as well, we just need a few more boat owners to show up.
-
Can take three at a min, probably four, but I only got enought decent gear for three (Okuma 25's), Unless someone brings there own set-up... If for Salmon, got plenty of that terminal tackle, just left handed stuff (Abu Garcia 6501's)... Figure HuntWA would have the co-seat since he was the best anchor guy out there yet....

Ah, I think I have one that could school your rookie :chuckle:
-
I'm all for catching dinosaurs. If I have to haul some lead then that's fine with me. No need for competition on the brainless work. :chuckle:
-
i have rods and reels equivalent to what huntnphool has on his boat that ray can borrow....say the word.
my weekends are mostly gonna be booked for the summer with scouting trips, vacations, family time till hunting season, etc, but the rods are there for the taking.
-
If I could get my boat could I get 24 footer with a prop up to there?
-
Huntnphool, probably would know best, but too me water is plenty deep enough, saw a couple bigger boys up same area late in the day. I guess it might be tricky coming back around the piers, etc.. with the low sandy areas... But man it would be a smooth ride through the chop versus the jets.... Oregon side not a problem at all, there were 50 foot crusiers where we were at..
-
I would like to get my 2nd sturgeon :rockin:

Not a problem Pope, we would just have to play follow the leader. Do you have GPS?
