Just purchased the 2011 8 mp Bushnell Trophy Cam and a bear box with python cable lock. Got the complete set up for under $200 dollars shipped to my door. The question I have is....What size SD card does everyone use and how many pics can I expect to get on the card. I can set my Camera to 3, 5 or 8 megapixel. It will take up to a 32 GB card, but do I really need to spend 50 dollars or can I get a 4 or 8 GB card? I plan on leaving the camera out for 1-2 weeks at a time.
Thanks for your comments in advance.

Last time I set mine out I had it on 25 second vid capture with a 4g card. It filled it in thee days of constand bear activity. That equaled about 260 video clips of 25 seconds each. I think my 2g card will hold 1900 pics on the 8mp setting.

I use a 4 in all mine.

Since you have no video, 2GB will work. That's what I have in mine, but for videos I have 8GB just to be safe. You can buy them online a lot cheaper than in the store. I paid 25 bucks for my 8GB at Staples, not bad, but I wanted it now.

Just found 8 GB SD cards on sale at Target for 9 dollars. Wife is enroute now to buy two of them. Thanks guys.

I also have the 8mp trophy cam and I use the 8GB card. It must be SANDISK brand per owners manual, I tried otherwise and it malfunctioned. But a 8GB card will get you 7500 pics at the highest quality setting. Cheapest place to pick these up is walmart, just $20.00. Good luck!

That's a good question jrebel, was wondering the same thing. Didn't know if I needed to get a 32gb card, or if it would be overkill. Like Tyler said Sandisk is one of three cards that go good with that came, read it in the manual and also from the guy at my local sporting goods store. See you posted on my forum about the bear box, even Cabelas in Lacey don't have any in stock, but I found a very heavy duty one sold by custom1 enterprises that I'm ordering tomorrow with a python cable. Man I thought you just buy a cam and go, but after the bear box, python cable, memory card, and 12 lithium AA's I'm going to have a lot money strapped to a tree. Hope nobody finds it. Good luck!
