Just wondering! Figured this rain should be bringing some in early?
-
Nope, just Kings with all their fins. :bash:
-
Port Townsend gave up a couple this weekend.
-
Tons of them just inside and outside of Tatoosh Island. Was out there this weekend and have never seen that many. They were getting good sized too. I would expect them to come flooding in anytime now.
-
I'm ready. Got some fresh gear, fresh line, and a 5 year old ready to get the deck bloody.
-
I heard of one getting caught off of a buddy's boat this weekend...maybe it was last weekend. Can't remember now.
-
been catching everynight in the des moines area, not the numbers yet but a few are in
-
i was out in the San Juans yesterday and a few guys were catching them off Eagle Bluffs. They will be here soon.
-
I was with a friend on a boat, fishing Posession Bar this past weekend. We got one. So, they are here.
-
I hope I can get out on the rivers with some of you pro's this season!
-
caught and released a couple off possesion point yesterday. got to keep a 18# nook!!!!
-
SWEET!!
-

-
Hoodsport has them. They have been knocking the snot out of them

Hoodsport has them. They have been knocking the snot out of them
I won't say "knocking the snot out of them" at Hoodsport, but I have been up there a number of days and the fishing has been Excellent, the catching on the other hand is slow. Last tirp out I went with a group of 5 to include myself. One buddie landed one almost instently, then another buddie hooked 2, one hooked 1 fish and I came home with one landed later in the evening. So 4 of the five us us getting some action. We all had fun tho and are going back out soon. I'm heading out tomorrow evening after work.
-
Whitenuckles, U going to the river again this year like last time when they come up?
-
R&R Charters had a bunch from over off San Juan tonight. About twenty, including two really nice sockeye. I think I will try to head over there tomorrow evening and maybe Sunday as well.
-
Any word of the pinks around Tacoma yet?
-
They are in the Tacoma area. You just need to find some beach access or a boat
-
Gonna be out in 8-2 on Thursday, hopefully find a few in the hollow or by shipwreck.
-
My cousin and I were out for 16 hours on Saturday, we landed three hatchery kings in that time. We weren't going for pinks but when the daughter and wife arrived at noon, we started trolling one of the rods shallow and put many miles on with nothing hitting the shallow rod. We were at dolphin point, three tree mostly.

Any fishing near browns point or over by Ruston? thanks!
-
Called the boat house today at 3pm. 8 fish coming in from the clay banks with one weighing in at 22lbs. A few pinks off the mouth of the Puyallup, but very slow and the action around Browns and Dash point is picking up slowly.
-
Cousin went out yesturday at 3 tree and got skunked, just an evening fish though. Did have a guy next to him catch a 25 lb'er. But no net out other than that, pretty slow right now. We are going out tonight hopefully will pick up for us, will keep you posted.
-
Their in the Skagit
-
I have been out 4 times now, mostly at 3 tree and Robinson. I am skunked so far and have only seen one caught at Robinson. All evening trips. I did see a few pinks jumping last night. I sure hope it picks up for the Kings soon.
-
Stopped in at browns Point at Lunch today and seen 6 fish caught in the 10 min. I was there. Only 2 were landed. There were about 20 guys there trying the luck at the tide change. Average size was about 4lbs.
Gonna have to give it a try tomorrow after work ;)

How should I rig up for humpies in the salt?

How should I rig up for humpies in the salt?
Just got back from neah bay trying for kings, humpies attacked anything from 6.0 coyote spoons to silver horde plugs, any manner of hoochie and cut plug herring. Couldn't find anything in my box they wouldn't hit. almost frustrating!
The tried and true rig is a pink hoochie behind a flasher or dodger. In truth, they will hit just about anything.
-
Well we killed a 16 lb king around redondo, no pinks and it took a few hours to get the king. Still very slow, saw a few guys fishing at browns point but didn't see any caught.

Here is a pic ... My biggest salmon ever, so even though it was slow, I am stoked to get back out there!! :IBCOOL:
-
I was out at Eagle Pt on the SW side of San Juan Island again yesterday. We got a 17# king and 3 humpies. Lost a few others, it was a pretty good evening. The pinks were between 3 and 7 #s. They will be here in the Everett area any day now. Rule of thumb is Aug 10 when fishing gets hot. Good luck to all.
-
Any one doing well with flies?
-
Thanks for the tips.
-
I like to tie my own flys, what's the best pattern for humpies?
-
Brian, that is a beauty! Nice king!

Pink.... :chuckle:
I think you could tie anything that has a wavy tail and it would work.
Ripper, how deep did you get the King?
-
65' Lokidog. Funny, I had a green flasher and squid at 100', and a green/white flasher and pink and white squid at 65, and it hit the shallow one. the pinks hit the deep one.
-
Just got back from going to Browns Point and Dash Point to take a look around and see what is going on. Lots and lots of people on the shores and dock and a good number of boats out there. I was at each spot about 20 minutes. I seen 2 hooked and 1 landed at Browns Point and nothing hooked at Dash Point.

Thanks.
We fished last Sunday with no fishfinder as I must have hit a stick and broke the mount on the way fishing. Got it fixed so hopefully we can target the fish depth better, though it seemed not too necessary last week. 8)
-
anybody know of a place over here on the kitsap area? river i mean. didnt get a saltwater license this year but me and my girl both have waders and desire to catch some fish.
-
Not sure about the rivers. Fished Friday with three and only landed one with one other on and lost, it was quite windy. There were about twenty purse seine and gill net boats out off Eagle Point. Not sure how any fish could make it through that gauntlet.... :bash: A friend and his wife went out today and in less than two hours landed four.
Heading out tomorrow, hopefully we can put some in the boat.
-
They are here, almost can't wait to take my kids out with me & get them hooked!
On my selfish side, I gotta pay respect to the Kings & get some 'me time' in while I can.
This one was hauled in by my buddy Saturday morning!

Out around shipwreck yesterday for a few hours, had 6 good hits, 2 pinks landed. was fishing without down riggers and 8 oz weights. looks like its heating up out there.
-
Picked up a couple out of that same area Sunday morning and feed one to a seal. Not hot fishing by any means but they are starting to trickle in.
-
Nice catch CP.....I'm heading to that same area again Sunday. Definately had plenty of seals in that area. How deep were you?

I will be fishing out of edmonds sat/sun. :IBCOOL: should be a good time! Any new reports?
-
i was out there saturday and the pinks were in full force at browns point! there were tons of them swirling around me in the point and if i had a dip net i could have got a limit in one swipe!
-
talked to a fish checker at the boat launch on Ediz Hook in Port Angeles and he checked 40+ boats and checked 8 kings, 0 silvers and just shy of 200 pinks, I'll say they are in like flynn here !!!
-

Nice Job you guys. Kelli and I went out today, really early and got a limit. Then the gillnetters moved in. Probably messed up for the next week or so now....
-
One of our fish had a healing net scar.
-
Lokidog, where were they going to be netting. I don't want to waste time tomorrow if they already netted the &$@? out of them.
-
Landed three in less than an hour from my kayak Saturday morning at Redondo. Then i had to get out of town for a wedding. Had a blast catching them from right on top of the water and netting them. Way more fun than in a boat!
-
Sounds like fun Swanny. Saw a guy catching tuna out of a kayak down in Puerto Vallarta some years ago.
Stickbuck, this was out on the salt off Eagle Point, San Juan Island.
