Title: Wierd buck
Post by: MuleySniper on June 16, 2008, 12:02:25 PM: This was out in my dads yard today. Check out the strange lump on its face. Any ideas what it is? I'm guessing a infected tick or something.

Post by: DOUBLELUNG on June 16, 2008, 10:07:33 PM: It's a fibroma, a viral skin tumor. Doesn't hurt the deer unless it interferes with feeding. They can get very large, and very numerous. Won't hurt you if you eat the deer, it's on the outside of the hide and comes off with skinning. Ugly, though.
